DJ Diplo could face sexual assault charges against him last year, BuzzFeed News reports.
The Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office confirmed to the outlet that it is considering bringing criminal charges against the famous 41-year-old DJ. Diplo, born Thomas Wesley Pentz, could face charges of invasion of privacy and intentional transmission of a sexually transmitted infection to someone.
The complaint was originally filed against Diplo by a 25-year-old woman in October 2020. In it, the accuser claimed that the DJ recorded sexually explicit videos of her and distributed at least one without her consent. .
âI SPECIFICALLY asked him not to overdo it and his response was’ shit. I’m recording this, “the accuser tweeted last year of the incident, according to The Daily Beast. She also alleged that he knowingly transmitted a sexually transmitted infection to her.
The same woman also sought a temporary injunction against Diplo earlier this year.
The DJ denied the allegations and obtained a temporary restraining order against the woman. He also sued her for criminal harassment, trespassing and distribution of private documents, notes BuzzFeed News.
“To be clear, my client has by no means broken the law,” DJ’s attorney Bryan Freedman previously told Billboard, saying the woman was “harassing” him. “In fact, he made it clear on several occasions that he didn’t want anything to do with this person – and that he just needed her to end the continued harassment of his family.”
Rob Wilcox, spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, told The Hill: “Our office is reviewing the reference and we have no further comments at this time.”
