The Bharatiya Janata party has criticized the Arvind Kejriwal government for its recent order in which it asked the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) to request the return of 576 buses which were provided to the Delhi police as “special hire” . Party spokesman Sambit Patra said people rightly refer to the Aam Aadmi and Arvind Kejriwal party as “anarchist”.
“He’s a dictatorship … he was an anarchist and even today he behaved like an anarchist,” he said.
Patra said DTC buses are widely used for moving police and security forces for deployment to various parts of the city.
“It shows that people rightly call AAP an anarchist,” Patra added.
Some DTC buses that were used by police and security personnel to block roads during a tractor rally protesting farmers on January 26, were vandalized by a section of protesters who had entered the area. city.
Earlier Wednesday, Kejriwal’s government ordered the DTC to request the return of 576 buses that were provided to Delhi Police as “special hire”. He also asked the DTC to get approval before allowing the “special rental” of one of his buses by the Delhi Police or any other entity.
The development has come amid the massive deployment of police and paramilitary personnel to the city’s borders where farmers sit protesting farm laws. The latest order means that security coverage on and near the farmers’ protest sites could be affected.
At present, there are over 3,700 DTC buses, of which almost 10% are on special rental.
