03/02/2022 was a terrible day for New Zealand democracy – the rough beast of Bethlehem is burning

It was a terrible day for New Zealand democracy.

The brute beast of Bethlehem now burning on the lawns of Parliament should have been averted and defused, instead Mallard provoked them and the government ignored them.

Spin and spin in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things are falling apart; the center cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is unleashed upon the world,
The bloody tide is unleashed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack conviction, while the worst
They are full of passionate intensity.
A revelation is surely at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The second coming! These words are barely spoken
When a vast image of Spiritus Mundi
Clouds my sight: somewhere in the desert sands
A form with a lion’s body and a man’s head,
An empty and ruthless gaze like the sun,
Move her slow thighs, while all this
Real shadows of indignant desert birds.
Darkness descends; but now i know
Than twenty centuries of stone sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what a rough beast, his time has come at last,
Slouches to Bethlehem to be born?

1913 – 1951 – 2022

This manifestation did not happen in a vacuum.

Last month the Salvation Army released its report on extreme poverty as housing affordability reached another obscene level while Covid aid went mainly to the wealthy…

The rich nearly $1 trillion richer since start of Covid – Hickey

An economic and political commentator claims that since the Covid-19 pandemic hit Aotearoa, the rich have gotten richer and the poor have gotten poorer – in part because of government policies.

…this protest may not be working class politics, but it is working class misery being manipulated by the far right on the lawns of Parliament!

It’s the fault of the left!

Imagine if Labor and the Greens had done something meaningful over the last 4 years for the lumpenproletariat so that there wasn’t this rage to be exploited by the far right in the first place?

What did Labor do? Pour billions into the pockets of real estate speculators and now try to pour billions more into an unemployment insurance scam that gives the most power to unionized white collar workers!

Middle-class Marxists want a revolution that knows its pronouns! He doesn’t want the smelly lumpenproletariat to ruin the aesthetics of his dinner party activism.

We have allowed Jacinda, Labor and the Greens to fend for themselves for too long for transformative change, and yet we are surprised when those most punished by the mandates rebel.

Let me be as clear as possible – I support Jacinda and Labor for their wonderful Covid response! I salute the courage and skill that have guided us through this most horrific storm and believe that warrants are the best way forward.

I believe New Zealand having some of the lowest death and hospitalization rates is a public health victory of extraordinary magnitude.

Yes, as a post-Marxist anarchist environmental socialist, I hate the state in my grids as much as the next free individual, but I’m okay with this restriction of my civil liberties for the public good.

BUT we on the left have failed to challenge the neoliberal economic hegemony that continues to devour so many lonely lives and fills them with such despair that they are bait for Facebook’s hate algorithms.

I have nothing against the arguments of these crazy savages damn it I was trying to get them to vote me on their hanging list at Nuremberg a fortnight ago but they have a right to protest and their rage has been fabricated by the left’s lack of transformative change.

I have yet to see an interview with a protester who, after an awful and painful personal mandate experience – that really tugs at your heartstrings – that doesn’t deviate into some crazy, demented conspiracy theory – he doesn’t no doubt that this misery is manipulated by far-right propagandists with malicious intentions.

If we don’t want so many angry, scared and hurt working class people to turn to the Nazis, maybe do something meaningful about their anger, pain and fear first?

Instead of defusing it, the Speaker of the House and the government provoked it.

It will defile us.

The woke got their revenge, Trevor Mallard groped while the lawns of Parliament burned and the government showed the lumpenproletariat that their pain will never be acknowledged.

At any other time, the violence police use today against protesters would be rightly decried across the country by the old left – today’s middle-class Marxists, however, acclaim the strength of the state. because we hate protesters.

We have lost our moral compass on the left.

I passionately disagree with these protesters on every point, but I defend their right to protest in a liberal progressive democracy.

Using state violence to crush this when Omicron and the end of terms would have defused this is a political choice.

We lost something today.

All Parliament has managed to do is recruit for the far right.
